At Online Medical Tools, your privacy is a top priority. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Calculations Run in Your Browser

All calculations performed on our website happen entirely in your browser. Computing a result does not require sending your inputs to our servers, and nothing you enter is saved to an account unless you sign in and turn on auto-save.

Some calculators add the values you enter to the page address (for example, so you can copy a link to your result). Our analytics tools record the address of the pages you visit, so on those calculators the recorded address can include the values you entered. See sections 3 and 5.

2. Information You Choose to Give Us

Some optional features do store information on our servers. We only store it when you use these features:

  • Account sign-in: your email address, used to send you a sign-in link and identify your account.
  • Saved calculations: if you are signed in and turn on auto-save in your dashboard, we store the tool name, the inputs you entered, and a summary of the result each time you calculate, so you can view them later. Auto-save is off by default. You can delete saved entries from your dashboard or the tool page.
  • Favorites and settings: the calculators and glossary terms you favorite, and your auto-save preference.
  • Contact form: the name, email address, and message you submit, used only to reply to you.
  • Tool requests: the tool you suggest, any details you add, the page you sent it from, and your email address if you choose to provide one.

This information is stored with our database and authentication provider, Supabase. The sign-in form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the request comes from a person rather than a bot. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical and usage information when you visit, including:

  • Usage data: pages visited (including the full page address), time spent on pages, referring URLs, and general navigation patterns.
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language preference.
  • IP address: which may be used to determine approximate geographic location (country/region level).

This data is collected through standard web analytics and is used solely to understand how our site is used and to improve the user experience.

4. Cookies

We may use cookies and similar technologies for basic site functionality and analytics. For more details, please see our Cookie Policy.

5. Analytics Services

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. Google Analytics may collect information sent by your browser, including your IP address, the address of the page you are viewing, and cookies. Its use of this information is governed by Google's own privacy policy. If you choose "Reject Non-Essential" in our cookie banner, Google Analytics is disabled in that browser.

We also use a self-hosted instance of Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies, to count page views and tool usage. Umami records the address of the page each event happens on. It is not affected by the cookie banner because it does not set cookies.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. Our website is served over HTTPS to ensure data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted.

7. Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold. You can delete saved calculations and remove favorites yourself while signed in. To request deletion of your account or any other data we hold, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
