The Revised Trauma Score (RTS) is a physiologic scoring system using GCS, systolic blood pressure, and respiratory rate. Each is coded 0–4, and the weighted RTS predicts survival probability. It is used in triage and trauma outcome research. An RTS of 12 (maximum) correlates with >96% predicted survival.

The ASA classification is a 6-point scale (ASA I–VI) used by anesthesiologists to assess preoperative fitness. ASA I is a healthy patient, ASA II has mild systemic disease, ASA III has severe systemic disease, ASA IV has life-threatening disease, ASA V is moribund, and ASA VI is brain-dead for organ donation. Higher ASA class correlates with increased perioperative risk.

The Parkland Formula estimates fluid requirements for burn resuscitation in the first 24 hours: 4 mL × body weight (kg) × %TBSA burned. Half is given in the first 8 hours, and the remaining half over the next 16 hours. Lactated Ringer's is the preferred crystalloid. The formula provides a starting estimate — actual fluid rates should be titrated to urine output.
