Mini-ACE (M-ACE) is a concise 30-point cognitive test derived from the Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination, designed for rapid outpatient and bedside cognitive triage. It samples multiple cognitive domains and is used to identify patients requiring fuller neurocognitive assessment.
Formula: Mini-ACE total = summed domain points, range 0-30.
Mini-ACE has published validation as a practical brief cognitive instrument for impairment detection.
Lower Mini-ACE totals indicate stronger cognitive-impairment signal and need for follow-up evaluation.
Use for rapid cognitive triage in clinic or bedside settings when brief multidomain screening is needed.
Performance can vary with language, education, sensory impairment, and neurologic comorbidity.
For related assessments, see RUDAS, MoCA Score and MMSE Score.
